Bolton is a town in the United Kingdom with a population of approximately 141,000. It has been continuously inhabited since the Bronze Age and sits on top of an ancient Roman settlement. Types Of Buildings Found In Bolton

Bolton is home to a variety of buildings in all shapes and sizes. From converted mills and factories, through to elegant terraces which still retain their original character, there are many options for anyone looking for high quality housing. The area was largely rebuilt after two severe fires in the 1870s by using red brick with sandstone dressings; this style of building is known locally as “Bolton sandstone”.

The town has numerous examples of Neo-Gothic, Victorian and Edwardian architecture. There’s also plenty of space with the city only being just over four square miles (ten square kilometres). Smaller houses can be found throughout boltons residential areas while larger properties reflect its industrial heritage – Bolton was once an important textile producing town.

The Chadwich Resource Centre is Bolton’s newest museum (opened in 2012) and is a must-see for any visitors interested in the town’s history. This award winning attraction on Bolton Market Square has been designed to provide an interactive experience of local life through its galleries, displays & events. The Bolton Museum has an impressive collection of Bolton’s history and includes an interactive cinema, a research library & museum displays. It is owned by Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council.

The historic Bolton Parish Church of St Peter lies close by Bolton market square, it was originally built as part of boltons medieval parish church but this building burnt down during a lightning storm in 1720. The current one includes interesting features such as rococo plasterwork ceilings or stained glass windows from the Victorian era.

The Red Lion Pub & Hotel is a bolton favourite, it is one of the oldest pubs in bolton and has been operating as a public house for over two centuries.

The Town Hall Theatre Bolton is Bolton’s primary theatre and hosts a variety of live performances, musical productions & film screenings.

Bolton Castle is the Bolton’s most imposing building and is a perfect place for Bolton castle wedding photography.

Bolton Market is a popular Bolton shopping destination for both local and visiting shoppers.

Whelley Railway Station bolton bolton is bolton’s only train station and provides limited connections to Manchester, Leeds & London.
